The Returners Workshop will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, and wrap at noon on Friday, June 27. It will happen the same week as the regular ASB Workshop for first-time attendees, but it is a separate event. After March 1 price will increase to $495.

Workshop Details

You will arrive at 6PM on Tuesday, June 24th at Hillcrest High School.
Hillcrest Address: 3319 N Grant Ave, Springfield, MO 65803
No equipment is needed the first night (other than a laptop or notebook).

Camcorder, any size, and your media (cards or tape)
Tripod, external microphone and headphones
Your own laptop and editing software.
We provide iMacs with FCP X. We support, but do not provide Adobe Premiere Pro. We can also provide field equipment for those who can not bring their own, but it is always best to use the same gear your kids use. We can provide tripods for everyone to make air travel a little easier.

Attendees must provide their own lodging and transportation. Below are a list of nearby hotels. There are also many AirBNBs in the area. Springfield has Uber, Lyft, and multiple car rental companies.
The workshop is hosted at Hillcrest High School in Springfield, MO.

Optional graduate credit is available through Drury University. Teachers may enroll for up to two credits. Tuition is paid directly to the university, and may be taken care of during the week of the workshop.
Drury also offers an entire Master’s degree built around attending the ASB Workshop at the beginning and end of the degree program, with all other courses taken online.

During the day we provide snacks regularly, and we always have hot coffee and cold water on tap. Lunch is catered in each day.

Attractions/Food: Springfield has a ton of restaurants, shopping, and plenty of locally-owned coffee shops and watering holes. Members of our staff are great resources. Ask them if you are looking for something specific. We are happy to assist. We are also home to the Springfield Cardinals, the AA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Springfield Cardinals have home games the week of the workshop in case you want to attend. Tickets are easily purchased on the day of the game.
