The workshop that started in the summer of 2000, and has since trained hundreds of teachers from 48 states (and a few foreign countries) begins another exciting week of teacher-driven instruction on Sunday evening.
Phrases such as "W-A-L-L-D-O," "ten fingers," "save a surprise," and "say it/prove it" will become familiar in the first day of what is designed as a "boot camp" for video teachers. Instructors will stress writing in the active voice. Projects will be screened and critiqued in front of the entire group. Thick skin will be developed.
Shooting sequences, editing to the moment, finding a character, all of that and more will quickly become "old news" to the 29 teachers in attendance.
We will share some of the successes, and maybe some of the tough-love lessons from the coming week here on the blog. Follow us on Twitter @AcademyofSB, and check out the hash tag #ASBworkshop2016.
