Most of us are on tight budgets, and getting anything for our broadcasts for free is a good thing. So here are a couple of things you might check out.
On a list-serv several people recommended EasyPrompter.com, and since our old prompter software, on an old Mac, needed replacing, I checked it out. We really like it, and it is about as easy to use as any software you will find. It is web-based, so you have to be online to use it, but boy is it e-a-s-y and f-r-e-e. This is a screen shot of the interface:
Another great site we use frequently is freestockmusic.com. It has plenty of music, in different genres, and they are easy to download and use in your broadcasts. We don't use the music much on journalistic content, but for creative stuff, such as PSAs and short films, the site has plenty to choose from.
Those are just two free resources we have benefited from as we try to keep an eye on our budget during the year. Feel free to let us know some more bargains you have found by e-mailing: firstname.lastname@example.org. We are all in this together, and saving a dollar here and there certainly can make a difference.
