ASB (Mobile) Workshop | Royce City, TX

A dozen students on the Royse City High School (TX) broadcast staff took part in an ASB Workshop in the Lone Star State July 26-27.

Dave Davis brought a condensed version of the ASB curriculum, and was met with an enthusiastic group of young broadcasters.

They got a lot done in just two days, including shooting and editing a one-minute, creative piece on the first day, and then going into the field to shoot and edit a news feature on day two.

Royse City adviser Steve Vaughan had his troops ready to work, and despite some typical equipment challenges, things went very smoothly.

Teams of four had three hours to shoot and edit a story built around a provided soundtrack.  Emphasis was on having a beginning/middle/end to the final production.

Check out one of the one-minute assignments below.
